The Studio’s new headquarters in Como reflects our creative ethos balancing heritage with contemporary design. A considered blend of vintage and modern elements creates a welcoming, unconventional workspace rooted in the building’s original charm.
PROJECT BRIEF
Set in a traditional apartment in the heart of Como, the studio’s first large office space was designed to feel more like a creative home than a corporate office layering strong colour, curated furniture, and architectural integrity.
This space marks a significant moment for Rachel Birthistle Studio, our first dedicated headquarters where the full team can work under one roof and welcome clients in a space that truly reflects our identity.
Located in a traditional apartment building in Como, the space came with original marble and parquet floors, which became the foundation for the design narrative. Rather than approach it as a conventional office, the intent was to create a contemporary studio environment that felt personal, warm, and thoughtfully curated.
We developed a rich colour palette that harmonised with the existing architectural features, enhancing rather than competing with them. The furnishings are a mix of locally sourced vintage pieces and modern design together, creating a balanced, characterful space that functions beautifully while reflecting our layered aesthetic approach.
