Rachel Birthistle Studio staged a weekend celebration along Italy’s Amalfi Coast, from a sea-level welcome at Conca del Sogno to a refined wedding at Villa Astor, blending local craftsmanship with bold gestures and a sense of timeless coastal elegance.
PROJECT BRIEF
The Studio designed a multi-layered wedding experience across two iconic locations on the Amalfi Coast. From a barefoot welcome on the rocks to a bespoke greenhouse dinner and a private pizzeria, each moment reflected the couple’s story and setting.
The weekend began at Conca del Sogno, where guests arrived by boat for a welcome party carved into the rocks beside the sea. The atmosphere was informal and celebratory. Sunset, music, and barefoot elegance setting the tone for the days to come.
The wedding was held at Villa Astor. The ceremony took place in the villa’s intimate walled garden, framed by stone and sea glimpses through sculpted windows. Cocktails unfolded on the panoramic terrace before guests were led to a custom-built open-air greenhouse designed by the Studio. Inspired by classic Italian greenhouses, the space featured stone flooring, soft floor lamps suspended from the perimeter, and a palette that mirrored the surrounding landscape.
The afterparty drew on the bride’s Brazilian heritage, with dancers leading guests to a vaulted indoor space reimagined as a night club. In the courtyard, the Studio unveiled a branded pizzeria—complete with pizzaiolo and custom signage—for guests to enjoy wood-fired pizza well into the night.
