In collaboration with Una Finestra Sul Lago, Rachel Birthistle Studio reimagined the lakeside restaurant for the winter season transforming a beloved summer destination into an intimate, design-led dining experience rich in seasonal detail.
PROJECT BRIEF
The Studio partnered with the iconic lakeside restaurant to redesign its interiors for winter. Using pieces from the Como Collection, the space was layered with deep hues, Paravicini plates, and bespoke furnishings to create seasonal elegance.
Una Finestra Sul Lago, a cherished destination on Lake Como, is traditionally known for its summer appeal. In collaboration with the restaurant, Rachel Birthistle Studio sought to shift that perception curating a bold winter transformation that embraced the quieter season with warmth and sophistication.
Using pieces from the Studio’s Como Collection, the redesign layered rich colours and textures to complement the existing structure while introducing a sense of intimacy. Plates from Milanese artisans Paravicini brought depth and character to the tablescape, while custom-designed chairs elevated the dining setting with sculptural elegance.
This seasonal reinvention not only redefined the restaurant’s atmosphere, but also generated fresh momentum around its identity positioning it as a destination for winter gatherings with a distinct design perspective.
